Viñales sees race in Argentina as its best

Taking advantage of the fierce duel of two bikes from Ducati, the Suzuki rider Viñales, he walked much of the GP of Argentina last Sunday in the third position. The Spaniard, however, fell in the first corner a few laps to the GP, and went out of Termas de Rio Hondo without adding championship points.

Still, the good performance gave him hope of good evidence this year.

"I think it was my best race in MotoGP," said Viñales. "I was fighting for the podium and with a great pace, so at the moment I am happy and positive for the next race in Austin."

"Of course I thought I could pass Rossi. I was much faster than him and I think I had the pace to reach it."

"The result is a shame, but I'm very happy that we showed our potential. We are not ready to be on the podium, but we took the bike beyond the limit."

"Our target was the top six. This time, we had a good pace. I took, I really was 100% with my bike."

Asked if the particular circumstances of the race in Argentina, which included an exchange of mandatory bikes, played a good role in competitiveness, Viñales said: "My pace was very fast, much like Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi."
