The 2017 MotoGP season will feature attractions such as Jorge Lorenzo's debut at Ducati, Andrea Iannone at Suzuki and Maverick Viñales at Yamaha.
For Andrea Dovizioso, who receives Lorenzo as a new team-mate on Borgo Panigale's team, Viñales can perfectly well fight for the title already in his debut year at Yamaha.
The potential of Viñales was visible in the post-season tests, when the Spaniard was the fastest in the two days of tests, even with the bike of 2016.
Although he has highlighted the qualities of the new Yamaha rider, Dovizioso has warned that certain aspects can only be proven during the course of the season.
"The issues I mentioned, however, can only be seen during the championship, not in a test. He showed speed and surprised me, but only to a certain extent, "added Dovizioso.
